Leading Community Engagement

Community engagement is the process of working collaboratively with community members to address issues for improving the community as a whole. As trusted spaces, libraries are a natural for leading dialogue efforts in communities.

Leading such engagement can raise a library's visibility and help demonstrate the library's leadership and commitment to the welfare of the entire community.

ALA's Dialogue and Delibartion Resources for Libraries webpage provides free facilitation tools to assist in library-led community conversations and engagement.
