Knowledge base management has never been a simple task and has become ever more complex as the variety of e-Resources that require management continues to increase. Maintenance is unending. Workflows constantly evolve. Join this e-Forum to to share insights and tips with colleagues, learn about standards, and express hopes for possible developments.

Learning Outcomes

In this e-Forum, attendees will:
  • Share experiences with various knowledge bases
  • Discuss approaches and challenges
  • Learn about knowledge base standards such as Automated KBART

Hosts

The moderators wish to acknowledge the ALCTS Continuing Resources Section’s Standards Committee for their role in the development of this e-Forum.

Tina Herman Buck is the Electronic Resources Librarian at the University of Central Florida. Her work is primarily serials and databases. She is currently implementing the CORAL ERM at UCF and working with the Florida statewide ILS project.

Christina Torbert is the Head of Continuing Resources and Acquisitions at the University of Mississippi, where she oversees the purchase of all content and the accessibility of all electronic resources. During her time at UM, the library has implemented an ILS-based ERM, two different knowledgebase and discovery products, and a knowledgebase-integrated ERM.
