McBride, Interim Serials Librarian/Instructor at Alabama A&M University, in Normal, AL, co-presented a poster session at the Alabama Library Association Convention held April 24-26, 2008, in Birmingham, AL. The title of the poster session was “Elimination of a Cataloging Backlog: How We Did It At Alabama A&M University.”

Courtney Young, NMRT President-Elect, received tenure and was promoted to Associate Librarian and Associate Professor of Women's Studies on July 1, 2008. She was also named Honors Program Coodinator for the Penn State Beaver Campus.
