Candidate Bio (1–2 paragraphs)

We encourage you to describe your professional experience as well as include a personal sentence or two about hobbies, family, etc. Please write your bio in THIRD PERSON.

Candidate Personal Statement (2–3 sentences)

Some things to consider: Why you would like to be a part of PLA leadership, what public library issue/challenge is front-of-mind for you, how can PLA (and you) make a difference for public libraries, etc. Please write your personal statement in FIRST PERSON.

Candidate Photo

Photo should be no less than 160 pixels wide x 200 pixels tall at a minimum resolution of 72 pixels per inch (PPI); larger than 160 x 200 pixels and a higher resolution is strongly recommended (PLA will crop and/or resize as needed). The ALA (American Library Association and its units) and the ALA-APA (Allied Professional Association) (collectively “ALA”) use the personal data you provide to the ALA to process membership, inform you of products, services, conferences, education opportunities, events and for other purposes which are within the Association’s mission. To accomplish these actions, ALA contracts with third-parties who gather and process personal data to complete interactions such as online purchases, conference registration, and fulfillment.
