Statement
I have worked in the field of library technology for the past eleven years. It is a quick-paced area of librarianship, requiring constant monitoring of the latest programming languages, content platforms, and overall technology trends, and how those aspects of technology fit into the library’s goals and mission. Technology is at the forefront of research and learning, and library technologists are an integral part of this work, providing secure access to the research information that our users need while also protecting their privacy as they use our resources. As LITA Councilor, I would bring this perspective to the organization at large and be sure the unique and vital voices of our division are represented.
