As a liaison subject specialist, I enjoy working with faculty and students in the areas of sociology, criminal justice, Cinema, Middle Eastern and South Asian studies. Through engaged and embedded participation I work closely with my academic community to learn and understand their research and information needs. I have had many occasions to collaborate in teaching and research projects with users, and also hold an affiliate faculty status in the South Asian studies program and African, Middle Eastern, and South Asian Languages and Literatures department. I serve on numerous committees and task-forces on campus as well as in national professional associations. Currently, I am an elected member of the Committee on South Asian Libraries and Documentation (CONSALD) board, and serve on CONSALD’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion subcommittee. I am also a member on the South Asia Open Archives’ Content Curation Working Group (SAOA). In addition, this year I am serving as ACRL’s Anthropology and Sociology Section’s (ANSS) chair and convener of the Asian, African, and Middle Eastern Studies Interest Group (AAMESIG).
 

My life as an academic librarian is extremely busy, exciting, and fulfilling. I enjoy collaborating with users on research projects and planning creative events to raise awareness. It is stimulating to participate in an academic environment and an extraordinary opportunity for learning and working with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.
