Describe yourself in three words

Enthusiastic, thoughtful, analytical.

What are you reading (or listening to on your mobile device)?

I'm on book three of N.K. Jemisin's Inheritance Trilogy, which is a wonderfully rich fantasy. I'm also constantly in the middle of my Jane Austen compendium, which I go back to intermittently for comfort reading. Also, the Little Kids' First Big Book of Dinosaurs, over and over and over.

Describe ACRL in three words

Network of communities.

What do you value about ACRL?

I love that there are so many different communities of interest/practice and so many ways to contribute and learn. I've really appreciated ACRL providing me with an opportunity to get to know and work with academic librarians from around the country. ACRL Immersion is where I met some of my best librarian friends!

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

Our campus recently transitioned to doctoral university (R2) status in the Carnegie Classification. As Coordinator of Liaison Librarian Services, one of my jobs is to help facilitate research-based collaborations between campus faculty and liaison librarians and to help cement our library as a partner in campus research.

In your own words

Being an academic librarian is full of opportunity and a wonderful balance of many different kinds of activities. In my job, I teach, research, do collection development, plan programs and engagement activities, and collaborate with colleagues within and outside of the library. There's always something going on that's exciting and stimulating.
