Task Force on the ALA Election Process & Guidelines

ESTABLISHED:  By the ALA Executive Board at the 2008 Midwinter Meeting

CHARGE: 

  • Review existing ALA policies related to ALA elections and campaigning for ALA office;
  • Review the Guidelines for Candidates for ALA Office document as approved by the Executive Board in Fall 2007;
  • Make recommendations regarding the current guidelines for endorsement of ALA candidates;
  • Forward recommendations to the ALA Executive Board in September 2008, for consideration by the Board at their October 2008 meeting

It is anticipated that the group will conduct its work using electronic communication and a face-to-face meeting at the 2008 Annual Conference.
