Hi! I'm Jayne Germer, a member of the LIRT Web Advisory Committee. This is my third try at getting through all the Drupal training to actually be of use to the committee!
ALA Membership
I'm a member of ACRL, LIRT (of course), and RUSA. I've been a member of ALA and ACRL for about 15 years. The LIRT Web Advisory Committee chair is Billie Peterson, and our staff liaison is Danielle Ponton.
My Library
I work at Perkins Library on the Crete campus of Doane University. Crete is the original site of Doane and the campus is now referred to as the College of Arts & Sciences. We have three satellite campuses in Lincoln, Grand Island and Omaha; these are referred to as the College of Professional Studies. We also have a College of Education, which includes the undergraduate program at Crete and the Masters and Doctoral programs that meet on the CPS campuses.

Some Personal Stuff
In my free time, I'm an avid reader, but aren't all librarians? I also enjoy playing and taking walks with my dog, Anders, though I have to admit that I sometimes leave that job to my husband!
Occasionally I get out my flute, which I've played on and off since high school. I like to play along with my husband who plays the guitar, and I sometimes play special music at church.
Church is a big part of my life. I became a certified Parish Ministry Associate for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 2010. Basically this means that I lead services for various congregations when their pastor needs to be gone on a Sunday morning. I love doing this, but I have to admit that I really struggle with writing sermons!
