Prosper (Tex.) Community Library may be small, but it’s definitely mighty. It shares space with a middle school—limiting its hours, but not lessening the quality of its programs or collection. Hear how the library director got creative and led positive change for the library and its growing community (three families a day move here!). Learn about the challenges and obstacles like story times off site, as well as the wins, like quality programs on a limited budget, community partnerships, and creative publicizing. This little library has plenty of big ideas to share!

Instructor
Leslie Scott is the director of the Prosper (Texas) Community Library. She has worked in public and academic libraries for 13 years. Leslie appreciates challenges and change and despises indecision and stagnant work environment. Her favorite words are “yes, and” and it’s motivated her outlook on almost everything.
Leslie writes a column each week for the local newspaper where she shares her ideas and thoughts on everything from what she’s reading to what she’s thinking. She has a husband of 26 years and a 22-year-old daughter who attends Baylor University. Two dogs round out the loves of her life. Leslie also likes to travel, be outdoors, be in a state of motion a lot, and think outside the box. She holds a BA in English literature from Indiana University and an MILS from the University of Illinois.
