Join current and prospective members for an overview and informal conversation at the Library Information Technology Association (LITA) Conference Kickoff. All are welcome to meet LITA leaders, committee chairs, and interest group participants. We will share information about our recent and upcoming activities, build professional connections, and discuss issues in library and information technology. Whether you are considering LITA membership for the first time, a long-time member looking to engage with others in your area, or anywhere in between, take part in great conversation and learn more about volunteer and networking opportunities at this meeting.

LITA User Experience Interest Group

Join us for some conversation about how accessibility features into the broader UX thinking at our libraries. Does it or doesn't it? Why or why not? Is it time for a change? Come and share your thoughts and what's going on at your library. Or just come to hear what others have to say. We can talk about physical space, services for the disabled, assistive technology, web accessibility, or anything else. Other UX topics are welcome as time allows.

After our conversation let's identify the next chair/co-chair(s) and discuss possible program ideas for next year.

LITA E-rate and CIPA Compliance Interest Group

With the E-rate Modernization Order of 2014, more funding for is available for public libraries to improve broadband. This requires CIPA compliance, including filtering. This is an open discussion for libraries interested in or dealing with E-rate, CIPA compliance and filtering.

LITA Heads of Library Technology Interest Group

The Heads of Library Technology Interest Group is a way for people in this position or who aspire to this position in their libraries to network with peers, share stories, and commiserate. The focus this year is working with administrative politics within your library.

LITA Open Source Systems Interest Group

Discuss your successes and questions on open source technologies within the library.

LITA Game Making Interest Group

Location: McCormick Place, West - Room 196b

Come hear presentations on badges and gamification during our meeting. Victor Baeza from Oklahoma State University will discuss the implementation of a campus wide digital badging program and Kelsey O'Brien will discuss the implementation of the Metaliteracy Badging System at the University at Albany, SUNY. We will also discuss future endeavors of the Game Making Interest Group.

LITA Maker Technology Interest Group

Location: McCormick Place, West - Room 474a

Join the LITA Maker Tech Interest Group to discuss how libraries of all types are using 3D printers, micro computers, policies, low cost strategies, and more. Everyone is encouraged to come and participate. This includes sharing what you have done in your library or coming to ask the group questions that you may have.
