Statement
I've been an ALA member for 26 years, and a LITA member for at least 22 of those years. As a long-time member, I would like to serve as LITA councilor to represent LITA's concerns to the larger organization and promote the benefits of LITA. As the technology division, what LITA does has an impact on all areas of the profession, which should be recognized. My goal is to make it possible for LITA to function more effectively with other ALA divisions and units to provide services and programs that members want and need. It goes without saying that ALA is a large and complex organization, and as someone who has served on a number of boards and executive committees, and attended what seems like thousands of committee meetings, I am certain that I can make a valuable contribution as LITA Councilor on ALA Council.
