Winner Description:
collaboration between the US ISSN Center and ProQuest benefits publishers, vendors, libraries and researchers around the world.
Winner Blurb:

For 15 years, a metadata librarian employed by R.R. Bowker, a division of ProQuest, has been assigned to the ISSN Center at the Library of Congress. This public-private partnership has helped the ISSN Center respond to the rapid increase in International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) requests for electronic resources and implement projects to assign ISSNs to core works. As a unique identifier for continuing resources, the ISSN is essential to the functioning of electronic resource management systems (ERMS), OpenURL link resolvers and discovery systems.
