Libraries Build Communities!

Taking the lead in committing to stay in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in October, the American Library Association (ALA) will host the largest conference in the city since last summer. The conference is expected to bring about 18,000 people and more than 2,000 programs, meetings and special events from June 22 to 28.

Members of the media interested in attending ALA's Annual Conference should e-mail Larra Clark, media relations manager, lclark@ala.org, or Macey L. Morales, PR coordinator, mmorales@ala.org
Press credentials are intended for members of the working media who are members of editorial staffs and reporting on the events, programs and activities of the ALA and conference attendees. Those requesting media registration must be currently employed by a publication or news organization, and your press badge will reflect this affiliation. A letter from your employer that describes your assignment may be required.
Freelance writers must also supply an assignment letter.
A confirmation e-mail will be sent, and media badges may be picked up on site in the event Press Office.
