This is part 1 of a two-part series. Intro to Data Visualization: Tools and Skills, Part 2 is the companion to this webinar.

This course introduces common concepts of data visualization to build a working foundation for anyone to use with any tool. In addition, participants will explore a range of visualization software and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each.

In part 1 of this two-part series, participants will gain the fundamentals needed to create visual analyses through a combination of supplementary text regarding data visualization and examples using Tableau software. It will also provide lists of helpful resources, offer a practice data set to work with, and explore the options available to those using Tableau Public.

Learning Outcomes

This webinar will provide participants with a basic framework for developing visualizations. Participants will come away with tools for basic data clean-up, visualization structure, calculations/filtering, and formatting. Secondly, participants will come away with knowledge of some proprietary and open options for creating visuals.
