Background

Themes from past National Library Legislative Days have helped to set the tone for the event. They give participants something to latch onto and make it easier to spread the word about the importance of the event and of libraries themselves. The theme should convey to Congress the importance of enacting federal legislation that supports libraries across the nation.

National Library Legislative Day is sponsored by the District of Columbia Library Association, the Special Libraries association, the American Library Association - Washington Office, participating state library and media associations, and other contributing organizations.
