International Relations

To promote international awareness and understanding of public libraries to the PLA membership and the PLA Board of Directors; to promote cooperation and collaboration on issues and activities related to public libraries in an international arena; to maintain a liaison relationship with the ALA International Relations committee and its IFLA subcommittee, the International Relations Round Table, divisional international relations committees and other groups to define and publicize international initiatives and programs of interest and concern to public librarians; to frame statements on PLA's position on international public library issues for the PLA Board of Directors.
