Continuing Legal Education Credits

Who May Attend
Lawyers for Libraries workshops are open to licensed, practicing attorneys retained to represent or advise libraries on legal issues. Library trustees or board members who are responsible for establishing library policy may also attend. Librarians may attend if they are accompanied by a library attorney.
Continuing Legal Education Credits
Ohio has accredited the Columbus training for 6.25 hours of CLE credit for attendees. Please contact Jonathan Kelley if you are seeking CLE credit from another state.
The following is a list of states that have approved prior Lawyers for Libraries training institutes for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit. In states in which CLE credit has not been sought, attendees may apply individually for recognition of the course. The Office for Intellectual Freedom will be happy to assist attorneys in those situations.

Note: No state has declined to grant CLE credit to Lawyers for Libraries courses. Several states do not require them and others, including Colorado, Montana, and New York, have reciprocal arrangements with other states that have accredited the institutes.
