Lawyers for Libraries

Calendar of Workshops

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”—The First Amendment

Additional institutes are planned for other regions.  If you are interested in being informed about future institutes, please contact us at jkelley@ala.org and we will notify you when more information is available.

Note: Lawyers for Libraries workshops are open to licensed, practicing attorneys retained to represent or advise libraries on legal issues. Library trustees or board members who are responsible for establishing library policy may also attend. Librarians may attend if they are accompanied by a library attorney.

2007

The American Library Association (ALA) will be presenting the Rocky Mountain Regional “Lawyers for Libraries” Training Institute in Denver, November 8, 2007.  This will be held in conjunction with the Colorado Association of Libraries Annual Conference. This will be the eleventh in a series of regional institutes following two national institutes in 1997 and 1998.
