Kids! @ your library® Tool Kit
Introduction

Service to children is at the heart of what libraries do. And helping to raise kids who are readers, lifelong learners and skilled users of information is what it’s all about for youth librarians.

The Kids! @ your library® toolkit provides tools to help you and your library reach out to kids and their families. The focus is on positioning the library as a place for children to read, learn and have fun.

Or, as one 3rd grader put it:
“The most important thing they give the children is that they let the children have adventure and they can think about many other things and just get ideas and have some fun.”
If your library has communication/PR staff, we encourage you to share these materials and work with them.

Your questions and suggestions are welcome! Please contact Laura Schulte-Cooper at lschulte@ala.org.
