State and regional chapters
The American Library Association has affiliate relationships with state library associations in all fifty States, the District of Columbia, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and regional library associations in the Mountain Plains, New England, Pacific Northwest, and Southeastern regions. On this page are links to the State Chapters, Regional Chapters, and Guam and Virgin Islands, as well as to a Change of Address Notification and a note about library advocacy. If you have comments and questions regarding these pages, please contact Don Wood, Chapter Relations Office.

Change of Address Notification
Please use the ALA Chapter Relations Online Change of Address Form to submit addresses and address updates. If you prefer to mail or fax a paper copy, you may download the PDF version of the change of address form.
Library Advocacy
Most State Chapters have a means (Capwiz) to take action online for state and federal issues. Under each State Chapter listing, see “Take Action for . . .” link under heading “Library Advocacy.” See also CRO’s Legislation and Advocacy page.
In addition, ALA created the Federal Library Legislative and Advocacy Network (FLLAN) to better share federal legislative and advocacy information with State Chapters. The FLLAN contact is a person designated by his or her state chapter to serve as the primary point of contact in the state for federal issues related to libraries. As federal issues arise, ALA Office of Government Relations (OGR) staff will communicate with the network contacts to request that they convey the library position to congressional representatives and senators in the contact’s state. To see who your state’s coordinator is, please visit the FLLAN Member Directory.
