ERT Membership and Dues

ERT brochure (pdf format)

Membership

ERT membership is open to all library associations, interested librarians, and firms or individuals exhibiting at library meetings. Current membership is approximately split half-and-half between personal and library organizational memberships, on the one hand, and corporate memberships, on the other.

ALA membership is required for all Round Table memberships. For information on personal ALA memberships or an online membership application forms for ALA, or to add ERT membership to your personal ALA membership, go to ALA's membership page at http://www.ala.org/ala/ourassociation/membership/membership.htm.

Only personal members and the designated representative of corporate members may vote in ERT elections and at ERT membership meetings.

Dues

Commercial memberships for commercial firms are free with ALA membership. There are several categories of corporate memberships in ALA, beginning with "Contributor" at the $350.00 level, "Patron" at $1,000.00, "Benefactor" at $2,500.00, and "Library Champion" at $5,000.00.

Organizational memberships in ERT for libraries and library associations are $15.00.

Personal memberships for individuals are $15.00.

Benefits of Corporate Membership

Booth Space Priority

A recent change to the way booth space is assigned for future Annual Conferences and Mid-winter Meetings makes it more important than ever that companies exhibiting at ALA become corporate members of ALA (and, thereby, automatically members of ERT). All corporate members, in order of conference seniority, will receive their booth assignments first, then non-members will be assigned by seniority.

Companies which are not corporate members on January 15 of each year, will drop to a second round seniority placement in assignment of booth space for that year's Annual Conference. Become a corporate member of ALA/ERT today to insure first-round priority for future space assignments.

Other Corporate Membership Benefits

Corporate membership in ALA/ERT demonstrates your company or organization's support for libraries to ALA's 62,000 individual members, gives you a voice in the association, and provides listings, discounts, and invitations to special events. Information on the benefits of the ALA Corporate Membership Program, which includes an application for membership, may be obtained at http://www.ala.org/ala/ourassociation/membership/corpbenes.htm or by calling 1-800-545-2433, ext. 5.
