Award Sponsors and Support
The Coretta Scott King Award Task Force gratefully acknowledges its on-going corporate sponsors. Each year various publishing houses sponsor students in the host city to attend the Coretta Scott King Award Breakfast. In addition to breakfast tickets for students from many publishers, winning publishers provide free copies of that year's award titles to children attending the breakfast.
Four corporations each year provide gifts to the winning authors and illustrators. Johnson Publishing generously donates $1000 cash honorarium to the winning author and Encyclopedia Britannica donates a set of encyclopedias in both print and electronic format. Book Wholesalers, Inc. generously donates $1000 cash honorarium to the winning illustrator and World Book Encyclopedia donates a set of encyclopedias in both print and electronic format.
The Task Force also wishes to express its thanks to numerous donors who each year sponsor children from the host city to attend the Coretta Scott King Breakfast at the annual conference of ALA.
