ALSC/BWI Summer Reading Program Grant
The ALSC/BWI Summer Reading Program Grant is designed to encourage reading programs for children in a public library by providing financial assistance of $3,000, while recognizing ALSC members for outstanding program development.
ALSC/Tandem Library Books Literature Grant
The ALSC/Tandem Library Books Literature Grant is designed to honor a member of the Association for Library Service to Children who has developed and implemented a unique and outstanding reading or literature program for children (infants through age fourteen).
The Bechtel Fellowship
The Louise Seaman Bechtel Fellowship is designed to allow qualified children's librarians to spend a month or more reading and studying at the Baldwin Library of the George A. Smathers Libraries, University of Florida, Gainesville.
Candlewick Light the Way Grant
The Candlewick Light the Way Grant is a one-time grant of $5000, to be awarded in 2008 to a library conducting exemplary outreach to underserved populations. It is given in honor of Newbery Medalist and Geisel Honoree Kate DiCamillo and is administered by ALSC's Library Service to Special Population Children and Their Caregivers Committee.
Distinguished Service Award
The Association for Library Service to Children's Distinguished Service Award honors an individual member of the Association for Library Service to Children who has made significant contributions to, and an impact on, library services to children and/or ALSC.
Penguin Young Readers Group Award
These awards, made possible by an annual gift from the Penguin Young Readers Group, enable four children's librarians to attend the ALA's Annual Conference.
Maureen Hayes Author/Illustrator Visit Award
This award, established with funding from Simon & Schuster Chidren's Publishing is to be used to pay for honorarium and travel for a visiting author/illustrator. Maximum amount of the award is $4,000.
