Describe yourself in three words

Calm, introspective, curious.

What are you reading (or listening to on your mobile device)?

Right now I'm listening to a number of podcasts, including The British History Podcast, by Jamie Jeffers; The History of English Podcast, by Kevin Stroud; and Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, by Vanessa Zoltan and Casper ter Kuile.

Describe ACRL in three words

Dedicated, effective, educational.

What do you value about ACRL?

I value the opportunities for professional growth, development, and innovation, which provides the ability to constantly improve in my position and not grow stale.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

Along with other librarians, I enable faculty and students to find the information and data that makes their research, teaching, and learning goals achievable. As a cataloger I play a vital role in making journals and other materials accessible and easily found. As a member of the university community I also serve on university committees and take part in university governance, contributing to the smooth functioning of the university as a whole.

In your own words

One of my favorite things about being in the academic world is the sense of learning and education constantly going on around you. Not just within the classrooms, but in almost every interaction between people, the opportunity and often the reality of learning exists. It is both my privilege and my good fortune to play a small part in that process.
